About Us

The HomeHealthTech™️ software platform was designed by care managers for care managers.  We know the challenges involved in coordinating home-based care and services.  Our founders set out to leverage technology and automation to encircle a senior at home with a connected virtual village providing support to seniors as they age in their own home, safely and independently.

Our story began in Honolulu, Hawaii where co-founders, former hospital administrators, Dew-Anne Langcaon and Bonnie Castonguay, started a senior care navigation service called Ho-okele.  Ho’okele means navigator in Hawaiian and is the revered role on a voyaging canoe held by one who navigates using the stars, ocean currents and other natural elements to guide ancient ocean voyagers.  For families navigating the complexities of senior health care, it can often feel like a stormy voyage with no help to guide them.  Inclusion of family is another value that drove our founders to find ways to better connect the families of their clients to be part of the care team.

Helping seniors stay heathy and safe at home is a formidable undertaking.  It is highly labor-intensive, demanding of personalization and compassion, typically paper-based, and as a result tedious and costly. We knew that smart technology would be central to the transformation of the delivery of services to seniors in their homes.  Yet, workflow barriers to adoption of automation by the very providers who need it has long been an obstacle in solving this problem.  So we focused on making technology easy to use by the in-home providers of care, more readily leading to acceptance and success.

The founders sought the expertise of technology experts in Seattle, Washington to bring their vision to reality through a new software platform company called iHealthHome. This platform is now used by over 35,000 clients in 23 states across the US.

In 2021 Gilbert Scherer established HomeHealthTech™️ in British Columbia for the purpose of providing the iHealthHome platform to the Canadian home care industry and the seniors it serves.  The new company acquired exclusive rights to provide the iHealthHome platform in Canada and began operations in 2022.

The values of the founders guide us.  Our Team is dedicated to making it easy for senior care providers to go paperless, be more efficient, support and supervise their caregivers in clients’ homes, better communicate with the entire care team the tasks that need to be performed to support clients, and so much more.  And, ultimately, it is all about enabling the senior to stay in their own home as they age, safely and independently.
